PetSafe Large Extreme Weather Dog Flap for uPVC Panels

The PetSafe Large Extreme Weather Dog Flap for uPVC Panels is designed to make installation easier in thinner uPVC door panels where the standard version can suffer from clearance problems around the door mid-rail.

This version is intended for uPVC panels approximately 17.5mm to 30mm thick and includes an internal frame extension to help move the slide-in closing panel away from the surrounding door frame.

Designed for uPVC Door Panels

When the standard Extreme Weather Dog Door is fitted into a thin uPVC panel, the internal slide-in closing panel can clash with the thicker mid-rail surrounding the panel.

This version helps reduce that problem by increasing the internal frame depth. It is particularly useful with 28mm uPVC panels, where the additional clearance should help the closing panel clear the mid-rail.

With thinner 20mm and 24mm panels, some clearance issues may still remain depending on the construction of the particular uPVC door, so measurements should be checked carefully before installation.

Important – Fit the Frame Extension Internally

The frame extension or packer must always be fitted to the internal face of the door.

This moves the internal pet door frame forward and provides additional clearance for the slide-in closing panel.

Triple-Flap Insulated Design

The Extreme Weather Dog Door uses a three-flap system to help reduce draughts and heat loss compared with a conventional single-flap dog door.

The inner and outer flaps are manufactured from strong, flexible material and use magnets to help them return to the closed position. Between them is a lightweight insulating centre flap designed to reduce heat transfer through the opening.

The triple-flap assembly can be adjusted after installation so the individual flaps can be aligned correctly.

Strong Aluminium Frame

The frame is manufactured from aluminium to provide a strong, robust structure for larger and more active dogs.

While an aluminium frame does not provide the same thermal insulation as some plastic frame designs, its strength makes it particularly suitable where durability is a priority.

Internal Slide-In Closing Panel

A strong internal slide-in closing panel is included. This can be fitted when you want to prevent your dog from using the door and can also help reduce draughts and heat loss overnight or during particularly cold and windy weather.

Closing Panel Clearance

The internal slide-in closing panel requires sufficient space above the dog door to be inserted and removed.

Allow approximately 324mm width x 996mm vertical clearance on the internal side of the installation.

This is a large dog door and it is not designed to prevent human access. The opening may be large enough for a small child or person to reach through.

Carefully consider the installation position from a home-security perspective. Avoid fitting the dog door where somebody could reach door handles, locks, keys or other security devices through the opening.
